NorthTec GmbH & Co. KG has been developing, manufacturing and installing systems for shadow impact monitoring and species conservation for wind turbine generators since 1999. The systems reliably limit the periods of shadow impact to the places of immission to the permissible load times. Also, by shutting down a turbine under certain meteorological conditions, the systems reduce the risk of fatalities amongst protected species (e.g. birds, bats etc.).
