Husum – After four eventful days, Messe Husum & Congress is happy with the positive outcome: the forecasts and expectations for HUSUM Wind 2015 have been more than fulfilled. The new focus of the fair on the important German core market has won over exhibitors and visitors alike. “The industry is very enthusiastic about our new concept, and the special spirit of HUSUM Wind could be sensed from the outset”, says Peter Becker, managing director of Messe Husum & Congress.
18.09.2015 // A total of 651 exhibitors from 25 nations, over 20,000 trade visitors and industry representatives, and almost 200 journalists came to the NordseeCongressCentrum and five exhibition halls. There were also numerous professional groups and delegations from home and abroad. In addition to prominent politicians from several German federal states, there was also a visit from the Danish foreign minister, Kristian Jensen. “Husum was the meeting place of the wind industry for four whole days”, added an enthusiastic Peter Becker. “It showed that the German wind market is still very interesting, also for foreign businesses. This emphasises the special importance of HUSUM Wind as a national trade fair that reflects the diversity of the German market. As usual, Husum was not just good for discussions, many firms are returning home with numerous deals under their belts. The fair ran smoothly in terms of organisation and infrastructure.”
The last day of the fair is dedicated to jobs and training. At the Windcareer job fair, school pupils, students and jobseekers can come into direct contact with potential employers and universities.
The mood both on and off the exhibition site was very positive, with visitors and exhibitors (see exhibitor comments) alike. The industrial associations also consider HUSUM Wind to be a great success. Matthias Zelinger, managing director of VDMA Power Systems: “We thank Husum for this successful trade fair. HUSUM Wind 2015 was very good for our members. The new concept as the trade fair for the German market went down well with both exhibitors and visitors. The German market is an enormously important market, and that is why establishing a national shop window is right for industry – and of course in such a suitably authentic location as Husum. From an association standpoint, we found this to be a good platform for dialogue with leading German politicians.”
Hermann Albers, president of the German Wind Energy Association, added: “Over the last few days we have shown how broadly and strongly positioned our industry is. Thanks to the energetic and hard-working SMEs we have grown into a strong industry that gives job security to 140,000 people and which has conquered a crucial share of the world market. The perfect organisation in the exhibition halls, including a smoothly functioning shuttle service and plenty of charm around Husum harbour has again secured the region a place in the industry’s calendar.”
Bernd Aufderheide, managing director of the cooperation partner Hamburg Messe und Congress GmbH: “The result of HUSUM Wind shows that the concept of two trade fairs has won over the industry. The exciting German-language market was successfully represented here in Husum, and next year the global market will be meeting once again at the leading international trade fair, WindEnergy Hamburg.”
The next HUSUM Wind takes place from 12 to 15 September 2017. Many exhibitors, from well-known turbine manufacturers to innovative start-ups, already booked their stands for the next HUSUM Wind during the fair.
EnBW Energie Baden Württemberg AG, Manfred Volker Haberzettel, head of Business Development, Production and Portfolio Development: “Hurrah for Husum! Excellent trade fair, and a venue with a noticeably special flair.”
ENERCON GmbH, Felix Rehwald, spokesman: “ENERCON can report a positive conclusion for HUSUM Wind 2015. Our exhibition stand was always well attended, and there was great interest in our new product – the ENERCON E-126 EP4. We had positive discussions with many customers. The fair fulfilled our expectations, and we will be pleased to return to Husum again in two years.”
Senvion Deutschland GmbH, Kai Froböse, managing director: “HUSUM Wind excels through its incomparable authenticity; four days full of dynamism and productivity with our customers in the German home of the wind industry. Senvion and HUSUM Wind simply belong together – a success story with a future.”
Nordex SE, Felix Losada, spokesman: “Nordex was able to use HUSUM Wind 2015 very successfully for the launch of its N131/3300 low-wind turbine, which was specially developed for the German market. The German trade audience showed keen interest in the turbine, which can produce high yields even in very low wind locations. The good mood of all the visitors also reflected the importance of the German market in Europe. The concept of focussing Husum as the leading trade fair for the German market is of great benefit to visitors and exhibitors alike.”
WKN AG, Catrin Petersen, head of Communication & Marketing: “Another HUSUM Wind at last! We have enjoyed the mother of all wind trade fairs. The concentrated format, the high quality of contacts and the presence of the whole industry throughout the town – really great. Keep up the good work in 2017!
Deutsche WindGuard GmbH, Cornelia von Zengen, Quality Management & Public Relations: “With many successful discussions in a pleasant atmosphere, Husum was the perfect setting for our firm’s 15th anniversary.”
Siemens Windpower A/S, Bernd Eilitz, press officer: “At HUSUM Wind we have shown our complete range of solutions for advanced wind markets together on one exhibition stand for the first time – a concept that went down very well with our customers, as evident from the consistent rush of visitors at the Siemens stand. The fair has once again demonstrated its great importance for the German market in 2015, and HUSUM Wind 2015 was consequently also successful for us.”
Bachmann electronic GmbH, Gabriel Schwanzer, director Business Unit Wind: “We had many visitors on every day of the fair – and a large number of them from international firms from the Near East and China – and good discussions at our stand. The quality was just right, also with the other exhibitors who in turn reflected the whole range of wind energy.”
HUSUM Wind and WindEnergy Hamburg
HUSUM Wind was held from 15 to 18 September 2015 in wind pioneer country Schleswig-Holstein, on the German North Sea coast. The focus of the trade fair is the German-speaking market. It has long been known as the traditional meeting place for the industry to have an intensive exchange of ideas and experiences, and for practically oriented added value.
WindEnergy Hamburg will be opening its doors once again from 27 to 30 September 2016. The leading international trade fair for the on and offshore wind industry in the wind metropolis Hamburg showcases the global market and the entire value chain.
