Husum | Hannover – Chris Pilz is the lucky man: the wind energy student from Hannover is the brand new owner of an original North Sea strandkorb. During WindEnergy Hamburg 2016, HUSUM Wind staged a draw for a strandkorb worth 1,000 euros.

The MSc student was presented with his win at the end of November. At an event at Fraunhofer IWES in Hannover, project director Thomas Seifried (Messe Husum & Congress, left) handed over the voucher for the strandkorb, which will be delivered shortly. “I’m writing my master’s thesis at the moment, and will be finished in the spring,” says Chris Pilz, “so I’m already looking forward to enjoying the first rays of sunshine in my new strandkorb”.
But there is some consolation for those who were not so lucky in the draw. When HUSUM Wind, the most important trade fair for the Germany wind industry, takes place from 12 to 15 September 2017, they will be able to take a break from the exciting programme in one of the many strandkorb beach chairs dotted around the fairground, or have a really good rest in one at the end of a long day at the exhibition.
