“HUSUM WIND is no longer just a trade fair for the wind power industry. It has evolved into the leading technology trade fair for renewable energies”
During his visit to Husum on September 13, 2023, Minister President Daniel Günther described HUSUM WIND as a “trade fair for the energy transition”. “HUSUM WIND is no longer just a trade fair for the wind power industry. It has developed into the leading technology trade fair for renewable energies,” said the Minister President. The aim of the state government is to create more future-proof jobs by attracting climate-friendly companies and promoting green technology. The trade fair is a source of ideas and a showcase for the current state of the art: “Generating, storing and transporting energy - the exhibitors here demonstrate what is possible,” said Günther during his tour of the trade fair. During his visit, he also met with a 14-strong US delegation that is currently visiting various locations in the Federal Republic of Germany as part of the German-American climate and energy partnership. The visit by the delegation, which was supported by the federal government, enabled the participants to find out about the potential uses of offshore wind energy in Germany in particular.
Strong political presence at this year's trade fair.
Following yesterday's opening of the trade fair by Federal Economics Minister Habeck in the presence of Lower Saxony's Economics Minister Olaf Lies and Schleswig-Holstein's Energy Minister Tobias Goldschmidt, the new Managing Director Meike Kern was able to welcome further prominent politicians to the exhibition halls today. In addition to the visit by the Minister President, who held talks with regional key players such as GP Joule, Dirkshof, Denker & Wulf and Wirtschaftsförderung und Technologietransfer Schleswig-Holstein GmbH (WTSH), Digitalization Minister Dirk Schrödter also visited the trade fair to find out about innovative solutions in the fields of green tech, AI, data economy and cyber security.
“The consistent use of data and IT technologies for an intelligent energy transition is an important basis for a climate-neutral Schleswig-Holstein in the future. For the first time, Husum Wind is offering a dedicated platform for the energy transition and twin transition. It thus sheds light on another important aspect and once again proves that it is a platform for the latest developments and technical progress,” said Schrödter.
